Tie in and enjoy the exposure on a custom rock climbing trip.
Northwest Montana rock climbing is unlike climbing anywhere else. We guide trips to secluded national forests that are relatively unseen by many summertime visitors. In these forests lie secret cliffs, pristine streams and clear lakes. Stone Hill, our main climbing area, offers incredible exposure. The quartzite bluffs that dominate the foothills around the area make for steep, fun climbing.
Climbing days will begin at our office, where we’ll fit you for climbing shoes, harnesses and helmets. After signing waivers and a brief safety meeting we will head to the crag to get you climbing! Most of the routes we guide are a very short hike from the car. The easy access afforded by these climbing areas make them great for families and adventurers young and old. Once on the rock we will teach you the fundamentals of footwork, hand holds and climbing principles. You will also learn about knots, communication and climbing safety.
My boys spent the day climbing at Kila with Chris. He did a great job keeping them safe, explaining moves, and encouraging. All the climbing gear was included. This is a professional organization all the way around. Greg was a pleasure to work with and communicated well as we planned our adventure. Super guys to visit with, also. Chris gave us tips about local places to tour and a great restaurant called Montana Coffee Traders in Columbia Falls. Much appreciated! –Jay, via tripadvisor.com
Aside from climbing, visitors to Stone Hill have the option to swim in the clear, crisp water of Lake Koocanusa or hike to nearby waterfalls. These are very popular options on those warm summer days! For adult guests we offer an aprés climbing stopover at H.A. Brewing, one of the region’s finest breweries.
